Final Day- Sabah Tourism Board

Life is never been so good as good as my life. I considered my life blessed with full of laughter and joy. This time, I would like to showcase some of my final day during my service at Sabah Tourism Board (STB- Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment Sabah) for the past 1.5 years before I resigned (afterwards join UiTM Sabah)

Joined STB as a practical student in 2007 did aroused my interest in tourism (particularly in tourism marketing). I did learned a lot of the beautiful places in my State (Sabah, Land Below the Wind) which I never know it exist here.

After completed my internship with STB, I'd joined a private company for about 5 months before I was offered a temporary post as a Trainee. Been trained for about 4 months, I was officially offered the post of Assistant Product Research Manager, which is responsible to take care of all the tourism products in Sabah.

It is true that our Certificates are just passport for us to get a good job. This job is totally out of what I'd learned during my college days. But, I was lucky for all the soft skills which I possesses. I'm able to complete all the tasks successfully with the training provided by my bosses, Mr. Allen Chia and Mdm. Halimah Hj. Hassan.

TEAM WORK COUNTS IN REAL

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

I had a chance to teached my students the value of real working experience through my class teaching. Really hope the students understand the meaning of it....I bet they realized bout it cause my students are BRILLIANT.

The facilitator divided the students in a group of 4-6. Each students are given a piece of paper. They are required to combine the paper into one big piece of paper which contain their future company logo. Opps..forgot to tell you..The theme of this assignment is Agricultural Industry.

Students are not allowed to combine their paper before they settle with their logo. So, this require a strong teamwork and effective communication among all the member.

Yippy....What a good trip ya guys...The story started when most of my students are stress with the overloaded workload. It can be seen directly from their expression during and after class.

This Island trip focuses on 2 objectives:

a) To re-motivate students to stay active both internal and extenal in the University. Especially my subject: Principle of Management.

b) To maintain the relationship as a FRIEND rather than a LECTURER. I believed FRIEND teach even better than a LECTURER. (I am a lecturer by the way)
